How to prepare artwork for print: stickers, flyers, and more

Bleed, safe zones, and file formats that help your job move from screen to press without surprises.

Export at the final trim size plus bleed—typically 3 mm on each side—so backgrounds extend past the cut line. Without bleed, thin white edges can appear when the blade shifts slightly.

Keep logos and critical text inside a safe zone, inset from the trim. For stickers, remember the curve of small circles: avoid hairline borders right on the edge.

Use vector PDF or high-resolution PNG for sharp logos. Raster images below 300 DPI at final size can look soft on flyers and posters.

Name your files clearly: brandname_flyer_a5_v2_bleed.pdf. Mention finish—matte, gloss, waterproof—when you brief your printer so quotes match the actual job.
